Six Ways to Make Landscape Photos More Attractive

In today's fast-reading pictures, photographs are not attractive enough to become overwhelming. Especially in landscape photography, every shooting point in China has been crowded out by the photography army, and what we have to do is to take photos with enough aesthetic feeling and visual impact. In this issue, Hanto will share 6 tips with you to teach you how to make attractive scenery works.

I. The enemy retreated and we marched in special weather

In any photography, the weather is important, but if you can meet the special weather that others can not touch, then you are lucky, your film is no doubt not others. In the process of shooting scenery, we should know the difficulties and go up instead of going out when there is rain. Sometimes, after rain, it is easier to appear charming light and color, and the permeability after rain is particularly good. For a long time, many people have an idea: this place is spoiled, is it interesting to shoot again? Personally, I don't quite agree with this view, because everywhere, different weather, different time periods, are irreproducible scenery.

Location: Xiapu Beiqi

Method of shooting:

This film was taken after the typhoon. The clouds in the sky are very special just after the typhoon passed. I used average photometry because the clouds in the sky were very thick and there were fishing fires below, so I didn't need any filters. Sometimes the weather was a natural filter. Because the exposure time is enough, ISO is relatively increased to 400 and large aperture 5.6 is used. Focus section selected 24MM wide-angle end, using three-thirds composition, the sky points two-thirds, the ground accounts for one-third, and in the later period cut into a square. The reason why the cut is square, because the mountains on both sides can not avoid, later appropriate contrast, other unchanged.

2. Be good at using color elements

Bright and full-bodied colors always attract people's eyes at first sight. In landscape photographs, color is a very important element, which can determine the success or failure of your photos. The contrast of colours, the collision of colours, the meaning expressed by colours and so on. Being good at using color to express one's ideas is a requirement for every good photographer.

Method of shooting:

Positive and reverse light shooting, average photometry, because someone is moving, we must ensure the appropriate shutter speed, so the aperture properly enlarged. Using diagonal composition, people and laver shelves echo each other, so that the picture is balanced. In the latter stage, the color temperature is lowered appropriately, and the overall tone is bluer. The blue tone intersects with the golden tone of the sun, creating a beautiful picture. The prerequisite is to use RAW format when shooting, and the color temperature can not be too low, too low will cause color overflow.

3. Capturing Special Light

Light, like a painter's brush in photography, plays a vital role in photography. When you can encounter special light, it will make your photos more attractive and excellent. Photographers also call the light of the "Dindal effect" as shown below.

Method of shooting:

Reduce the aperture by 16 to make the sun shine. Reduce the second exposure to make the contrast more obvious. Because of hand-held shooting, the ISO has been improved. The reason for using wide-angle shooting is that I want to take the characters as an embellishment of the scenery, not as the main character, or as much as possible to take the tree shape of the big banyan. This film is basically straight out of the original film, do not add contrast later, because a contrast, the fog must be overexposed.

Location: Xiapu Dongbi

Method of shooting:

This photograph was taken after the rain, and the magic of nature unfolded at this moment. I added 0.9 gradient grey filters, dulled the sky properly, used the three-part composition method, the sky accounts for two-thirds, the water surface accounts for one-third, and found the appropriate prospects. Because of the limitation of conditions at that time, there were many stones to avoid, so the 35mm focal length was used. In the latter stage, the contrast is strengthened, the changes of clouds in the sky are highlighted, and the water surface is properly lightened, so that the upper and lower light ratios are more balanced. It's not necessarily perfect to add filters, it's just to make your later life easier.

4. Don't miss the brilliant sunshine

Xia Cai is also one of the most commonly used protagonists in landscape photography. The gorgeous Xia Cai will make your photos full of charm and ornamental. Of course, the gorgeous sunshine can not be met, and in order to shoot these gorgeous sunshine, we have to get up early and return late. The change of light before sunrise and after sunset makes the sunshine changing all the time. If you encounter it, the beauty of the sunset will be displayed in front of you at every moment, which will make you obsessed with it.

Method of shooting:

The two pictures were taken at the same place and in the same seat. There was only a five-minute difference between the two films because the clouds were different. The first 30 seconds exposure time used black card technology to darken the sky. In the second one, three gradient grey filters are added and one is properly exposed to make the water surface more fully exposed. In fact, I just adjusted the different apertures of the two films. The first one used a large aperture because the light was dim at that time. The second one used a small aperture to keep details as much as possible. It also uses three-thirds composition, with two-thirds of the sky. In the later stage, contrast and saturation were added in DPP. Saturation was added very little, because the color was very strong at that time.

V. Rhythm of Nature's Lines

Lines, especially those of nature, are always so beautiful and impressive. In the process of shooting, we should be good at finding and capturing such lines, because beautiful lines can easily give people a sense of extension and rhythm.

Method of shooting:

Every day the tide changes, resulting in Xiaohao every day different lines, a wave of waves formed a wonderful line. The use of long focal length photography, Xiapu is known as a photographic sacred place, it has a high point shooting at each point is one of the reasons. In order to ensure a certain shutter speed, a large aperture of 6.3 is used. Backlight shooting, S-shaped composition, the fishermen are arranged on the golden segmentation point of the picture, without any filters, some people like to use polarizers to eliminate the reflection, I personally do not like to use, because the light of shooting time has been soft. Later, contrast and saturation were added.

Location: Qidu, Ningde

Method of shooting:

The lines of the Seven Cities are changing with the rising and falling tide, sometimes vague, sometimes buried and sometimes exposed. Smooth shooting, the water reflects the blue sky, 200MM focal length, compressed visual space. The two golden dividing points are arranged for people and egrets, which correspond to each other. Because the light was a little strong at that time, the exposure was reduced appropriately. Later, contrast and saturation were added.

Sixth, the contrast between dynamic and static

Motion and stillness can make people produce a kind of dynamic beauty to the picture vision, and there are many ways to achieve the contrast between motion and stillness. For example, the method of focusing, such as slow door, and later techniques, can create a static and dynamic contrast.

Location: Toad Dam

Method of shooting:

It was cloudy when the photo was taken, and it was completed by slow door shooting. Then the black card was used to balance the upper and lower light ratios, which made the clouds in the sky form a dynamic and static contrast with the ground. Ultra-wide angle of 16MM end is used to show the clouds and wide field of vision in the sky. Reduce the aperture to 16 and ISO to 50 to extend the exposure time as much as possible. Exposure compensation should be increased to make the dark part exposed accurately. In slow door shooting, it is best to add appropriate exposure compensation, so that the dark part will be fully exposed normally. The sky and the ground are measured separately, and the upper and lower light ratios are balanced by black card technology. In the latter stage, the upper and lower parts were adjusted respectively. One adjusts the sky first and the other adjusts the ground. Later, the gradient is pulled out with a mask to make the upper and lower light more balanced. Three-part composition.

This film has four dimming lenses, and the shooting method is the same as the above.

Write in the end: Scenery shooting, technology is very important, but thought is more important. The most important lesson is how to bring your own ideas when shooting. The above points are just my personal views and summaries. Of course, there are many things we need to do and learn. Welcome your criticism and exchanges.
