Delayed self-timer is a function that current cameras provide. Usually we think that self-timer is just convenient for the photographer to take self-timer, or for us to take photos. In fact, self-timer's function is more than that. Skillfully using self-timers with delays can achieve many unexpected effects.
Example 1: Skillful self-portrait conception
The Japanese teenage plankton girls must be familiar with it. In the early days, plankton became popular all over the Internet. In fact, these pictures of the floating girl is their own use of the camera self-timer function to achieve.
Generally speaking, the camera self-timer has a reciprocal time, which varies from 2 seconds to 10 seconds. When shooting, we need to pay attention to the reciprocal time, and then estimate how long the POSE we want to pendulum will take.
For example, a girl in a plankton usually takes off before the end of the countdown of the camera, trying to jump to the highest point when the camera shutter opens, which may take several more hops to master the time. In addition, the camera countdown time will be accompanied by indicator lights and prompt sound, indicator lights and prompt sound will become short and urgent with the end of the countdown, which is the best reference for estimating the time.
The rest is to think more about how to make POSE more creative.
Example 2: Provide more stable shooting status
In many cases, we need tripods to help us get more stable images. For example, shooting the night sky or night scenery, if we hold it in hand, it will definitely blur into one. But can a stable image be obtained by simply relying on a tripod? This is not the case. We also need to consider the fuselage jitter caused by pressing the shutter. Maybe the jitter is extremely small, but it will still cause the picture to be not so perfect.
So many photographers carry a shutter line with them, so that they can avoid the jitter caused by pressing the shutter. But what if we don't have a shutter line around us?
In fact, self-timer delay is also a good solution. Firstly, since it is a long time slow door exposure, it shows that we are not caught in a flash, which provides a prerequisite for us to use delay self-timer. Secondly, the delayed self-timer also does not cause the fuselage to shake, because the delayed self-timer will press the shutter a few seconds before the shutter opens.
When we shoot the stars, we adjust the camera to self-timer mode, then compose and focus. When everything is ready, just press the shutter and wait a few seconds, the camera will provide us with the most stable image.
Example 3: Shooting moments that cannot be photographed
Most of the time, people can't show their true side in front of the camera. In order to get the most realistic images, we can set up the camera in a concealed place and adjust the camera to shoot regularly. Just like the principle of self-timer, timer shooting can be regarded as self-timer with long time delay.
This is a group of photos taken by world-class photographer Duvano, whose friend opened an art shop in Paris. His friend once bought a painting of Wagner's body and hung it in the window. Duvano thought that different people would have different reactions to the painting, so he hid in the reflection. After two or three days of shooting in the "stand by and wait for rabbits" style, the result was "brilliant battle results".
Due to the limitation of equipment, Duvano could only sit by the camera, but if the camera had regular shooting function, Duvano could drink coffee comfortably at home, and wait for two days to come here to harvest the photos.
