Easy freehand portrait shooting strategy

At least once or twice a year, the author takes pictures outside the portrait, mainly to contact friends who have known him for many years. Because we are in the south when we study, we always choose Kenting or Xiao Ryukyu as our destination. Apart from familiarity, transportation is also convenient. It is one of the key considerations.

First of all, the communication between shooting preparation and Model is very important before departure. If there is no prior planning communication, the clothing or shooting time is not said well, leading to the shooting is not as expected, which will greatly reduce the interest of taking pictures on this trip. Therefore, planning communication and coordination in advance is very important.

This photograph wants to create a lively sense of relaxation, so it is mainly about bright and fragmented dresses and bikinis. There are many reasons for this shooting of Model. So we take separate shooting. Unfortunately, this time, a few of the three Models took photos together. & nbsp; We went to Kenting because we swept to the tail of the typhoon, so the weather on the first day was not very good. Fortunately, we had a discussion with Model about the part of travel photography beforehand, so on the first day we chose to shoot in the hotel and the hotel swimming pool.

Travel photography uses headdress heel as props. The part of outdoor swimming pool is equipped with frog glasses and swimming ring with frog heel. Although it is a bit irrelevant, the overall effect is good.

Indoor shooting

There is no available light for indoor shooting on that day because of the relationship between scenes. The indoor light is yellow, but because the headdress and the bouquet are props, and the indoor light and scenes match well, so the day shooting white balance is automatic, using M mode shooting, mainly changing to aperture and ISO, guiding shooting while letting the model and headdress. Flowers can be brought out in a quiet way, even in a playful and lively way. The shooting time circle (F2.8) and ISO (2000) are almost static. If the scene light changes, my habit is to change the shutter between 1/60 and 1/125 seconds.

Kodak EKTAR 100 negative was also used to shoot this time, but it felt that the contrast of the negative was low, and the performance was not strong in low light environment. Under the circumstances of partial sensitization during shooting, plus the inability to get rid of the sensation of several photographs when developing, the result of developing would feel a bit like shaking to paste, and the photographs were obviously more granular.

Outdoor shooting

Thank God, there was sunshine at last in the swimming pool. In order to show the lively feeling, the shooting was done in a playful way, hoping to get the most natural side. Many props were used to shoot together in order to create a lively and senseless way. Harmonious atmosphere, because the shooting Model is not familiar with water, so the underwater part of the photography is also used with the treatment.

When shooting, because sometimes there is sunshine and sometimes there is no sunshine, because of the bright color of the shooting place, we need to pay attention to only use the shutter to control the light and shade. The aperture F2.8 and ISO100 are fixed, and the shutter is between 1/640 seconds and 1/2500 seconds.

Then to the next day's scheduled shooting of grasslands and beaches, we also have the part to carry fireworks for night shooting, because there is no previous experience, this shooting of fireworks is experimental nature, and then if there is a related shooting to share with you.

The weather was fine when shooting, the blue sky and white clouds were not sunny, although there were still some thunderstorms, but it did not detract from our interest in shooting, the feeling of the open grassland was great, of course, this is the best time to shoot the blue sky and the backlight, although there was a little rain, but at this time we still had to shoot with an umbrella (laughter), in the sand. Beach shooting because the sun will be more intense, in Kenting's words, it is recommended to shoot at 5:00, 6:00 or dusk in the morning, the light will be better controlled, in the rest of the time as long as there is no headlight, even if there is no flash, it can also shoot the blue sky.

Grassland shooting

At this time, as long as we pay attention to the problems of light and backlight, control the shutter speed and the light and shade of the characters, the background part uses aperture to control the deep part of the scene, in the light to shoot the blue sky and bright characters, the aperture is controlled between F5.0 and F5.6, the shutter speed is between 1/160 and 1/200 seconds, and the shutter speed is maintained in the state of ISO 100, while the background part uses aperture to control the deep part of the scene. In the backlight state, open the aperture F2.8, shutter speed is controlled between 1/320 seconds and 1/400 seconds, in short, only these tips should be remembered in particular.

In the condition of two persons, avoid the situation that one of them is blurred due to the staggering of front and back. The aperture is recommended between F4.5 and F6.0, the shutter is recommended between 1/500 and 1/640 seconds. When two persons are in the same plane, and have the current scene of the net, they shoot with the large aperture F2.8. The shutter speed is 1/2000 seconds, depending on the brightness of the subject. Undercover adjustment.

I have always liked the feeling that shadows and sunshine are interlaced. It is easy to achieve this effect in the environment of high film tolerance, but digital is not so easy. The feeling of contrast between light and dark can also be tried if you like. The sunshine is sprinkled by coconut leaves on the eaves, which creates shadows on Model. & nbsp; the aperture and ISO of my camera are kept between F2.8 and ISO 100, the shutter is controlled between 1/250 and 1/320 seconds, and the surround photometry is used.
